Battlefield 6 Gamers Are Convinced: Tasks Are Way Too Hard
The launch of the much-awaited Battlefield 6 garnered broad praise, notably for its top-tier multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, simultaneous player numbers surged to nearly 750,000. Yet, in spite of its success, many players are expressing frustration over a portion of the release's hardest challenges, which are necessary to access certain guns.
Gamers have begun using personalized games created through the custom game tool to achieve these objectives, underscoring just how demanding these challenges have become.
Grasping BF6 Objectives
Tasks represent Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, as opposed to the regularly refreshed day-to-day and weekly tasks. The game includes four types of assignments, but while the majority merely grant outfits and select equipment, completing the weapon assignments is the sole method of obtaining a dozen out of forty-one main guns present in the game.
A number of these locked weapons might eventually find their way on rankings for the finest arms in Battlefield 6.
Gamer Backlash across Reddit
Over on Reddit, players are understandably voicing their concerns about how hard and tedious several of these challenges are. A particular gamer emphasized one of the most outrageous examples, required to unlock the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
- Cause 10,000 non-ADS damage with LMGs
"This task is so awful and completely out of mind, I want to scream in frustration," is a comment that illustrates just how frustratingly difficult these tasks are.
Suppression in Battlefield is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it has significantly fewer positive effects in fights as it did in previous games. It only registers as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.
Additionally, firing an LMG without aiming is highly imprecise and only works at extremely close range, which is not usually a position you aim to be. The commenter also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, to unlock the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that task would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and conversely.
Another Ridiculously Tough Challenge
A different forum member pointed out a further incredibly demanding challenge, this time in the long-range weapon type to obtain the PSR:
- Achieve 150 headshot eliminations from more than 200 meters away with long-range weapons
This is difficult enough by itself, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: the majority of Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at such a long range.
There is a decent selection of map sizes, but because there are just nine maps in the game at present, it means you're limited to playing New Sobek City, a particular valley environment, and perhaps a classic map in a best-case scenario if you want to snipe from a significant distance.
The Workaround
Nevertheless, a method exists: the custom game tool. The custom game creator is a tool that allows you to create personalized matches on any map you prefer, including AI opponents. This implies you can exploit the mechanics… but it isn't truly in line with the intended gameplay experience.
Yet, if completing the missions in a proper game feels like anti-playing, since you are forced to participate in such an atypical style that harms both you and your squad, who can blame someone for completing them in a private match so teammates aren't hindered?
Upcoming Tweaks
It is expected if a number of these missions are toned down in the next few updates, because should they remain unchanged, certain gamers simply are unlikely to obtain the gated weapons.
At the moment, the community continues to voice their opinions on these demanding multiplayer missions, hoping for a fairer overall gameplay in subsequent patches.
