Chopper Twirls Wildly into Palm Fronds at Well-Known Southern California Shoreline
An aircraft hovering above a popular coastal coastline abruptly began spiraling uncontrollably, ultimately descending rapidly and plunging into a cluster of palm fronds as beachgoers observed.
Recordings posted on social media depict the chopper beginning to twirl near Huntington Beach then falling near the border of the coast, where it ends up lodged between palm groves and a steps adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Details
The Huntington Beach fire department said five persons were transported to a medical facility including two individuals who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” subsequent to the crash on that day.
Three individuals on the pavement were injured. Information on their injuries were still under review.
The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.
