Paramount Skydance Plans to Eliminate Approximately 2,000 United States Roles – Report
Paramount Skydance plans to initiate mass layoffs beginning on 27 October, eliminating about 2,000 positions in the United States as part of a expense reduction strategy totaling $2bn under top executive David Ellison.
The layoffs come after the union between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed this past August worth $8.4bn.
Additional overseas workforce reductions are expected, with the company aiming to disclose full details during its third quarter earnings report on 10 November.
Prior news had indicated the firm was looking to eliminate between 2,000 to 3,000 positions by early November.
By December 2024, Paramount retained almost 18,600 full- and part-time employees along with 3,500 temporary project employees.
The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
